What is +maqui?

In the native forest of southern Chile growths, the Maqui, a small fruit of the berry family with the highest antioxidant capacity in the world, which is described by many as a SUPERFOOD.

+Maqui is an innovation project from Arauco that wishes to transform the unknown wealth of the native forest located at the end of the world in health and wellness by valuing the work of local harvesting communities.

By working with local harvesters, we look for promoting local community participation and sustainable native forest management best practices, aiming minimal ecosystem impact. All of these makes +Maqui an eco-friendly choice.

In +Maqui, we captured all the fruit benefits and converted them in an exquisite and refreshing drink, which helps to boost the immune system and is a good source of vitamin C, calcium, iron and potassium.



The maqui is a rich source of polyphenols, anthocyanins and other nutrients that helps neutralize free radicals, aging precursors, protecting us against changes associated with aging and preventing cancer development.



Thanks to a network of local harvesters, we are able to make +Maqui possible and to incentivise local community participation and shared value, through sustainable harvesting and minimal ecosystem intervention.

How is the antioxidant capacity of +maqui measured?

The antioxidant capacity of foods is measured using ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) method. A greater ORAC measurement indicates a higher antioxidant capacity. The graph in the right shows a comparison between Maqui and other SUPERFRUITS such as Raspberry and Acai.
